Unusual ELF score

Hi,

Would it be unusual to have an ELF reading come back as 14, yet ALT, Platelets, Billirubin all be normal? My doctor isn’t in a rush to see me whilst I have convinced myself I’m on deaths door (no symptoms though).

would be interested to hear from other peoples experiences, although I’m struggling to find anyone else who’s score has come back so high!

Thanks

Hello there! The ELF score as you probably know is measuring the risk of developing cirrhosis, whereas the bloods you mention are the Liver Function tests - measuring how well your liver is doing its job and functioning. As these are all within range and "normal" your GP won't be too worried at this point. It would be a good idea to monitor these numbers - as Im sure they will do 🙂ATVB

Thanks for the reassurance, since seeing the ELF score I have cut out all processed food, and researched liver friendly diets to try and give myself the best chance.
