Hi all. So my alts have been up and down tue past few years. Got a fibroscan with 10.2 kpa and 321 cap. I'm 38 6"2. I was around d 190 but went on a very strict diet over the past month and am down to 182. I am wondering if there are any chances of getting an f0 score and back down to 150. Note that I get around 150 minutes of activity a week.
F3 10.2 kpa and 321 cap: Hi all. So my... - British Liver Trust
F3 10.2 kpa and 321 cap
I lost 4 stone as I was to unwell to eat my fibroscan showed a f0 on my last visit but I'm still f3
Hi. If fibroscan said F0 , were there other tests pointing to F3?
A fibroscan picks up scaring on the liver and also if it has fat around it f3 is the stage of my liver f0 meant no fat around it the fibroscan picks up both readings no other test at the same time
The two readings you get from your fibroscan are a kPa number which reveals how fibrous your liver may be - if you've been told F3 then thats Severe Fibrosity a.k.a. incomplete cirrhosis. The other number you'll get is the CAP number which reveals how fatty the liver is - the scale for this is 0-400 and reported as a Steatosis Grade S0 - S3. So, you may have F3 fibrosis but no fat and the fat would be recorded as S0 (rather than F0).

Thanks for explaining it correctly to me i guess f3 is bad for me 😥
That's if it's an accurate result - I see you have PBC. What were your bloods indicating at the time of the scan? If you had ongoing inflammation at that time there is potential for the result to be falsely inflated. But, hopefully if they can control your PBC then the fibrosity might reduce.
(You can have all the way to F4 cirrhosis without any fat when it's another condition causing the issue).
I'm not sure what my bloods was at the time I'm having another fibroscan on Sunday this week as my last one was a year ago a ct scan done 4 weeks ago does show portal hypertension and enlarged spleen no fluid build up as yet x
