After seeing my liver consultant. His referred me to a liver hospital where they do research trails and my liver will monitored regularly. I have received my appointment for the 29th October. I know it's a good thing and this might sound silly but i feel really scared anxious mostly about the trail part. I'm really grateful for the opportunity but at the same time really scared and nervous

Put forward for trails can not help but feel worried
Hi, please don't be scared, you are bound to be anxious especially when you are having the tests. I've been on 2 trials, one for 6 mths.( Resus Trial.. ) firstly blood tests were taken, then fibroscan.. then MRI scan and then a liver biopsy. I was then given a pill to take everyday, ( I don't know whether it was a placebo or the real pill) 6mths later all of the above done again. Then a appointment with the consultant.. If after all the tests on the drug are done and have helped livers improve ( the drug will be used in the future) My main worry was having a liver biopsy. The 1st one I had was a long needle through the side ( in between my ribs) and 2 snips of liver were taken, they inject the side to numb it. I wouldn't say it was painful at all, just abit uncomfortable. My 2nd biopsy was taken 6 mths later and I decided to have the one where they put a tube down your throat and take 2 snips of liver, they sedated me, I was aware of everything around me, and what was being said and done, but absolutely no discomfort. My 2nd trial was just for the day, to do tests to see if it's hereditary, that was just a big questionnaire, bloods and scans.Good luck and well done in agreeing to do the trials, it keeps a check on your liver and hopefully will help others in the future. If you get chance let me know how you get on.
