hi Guys - If you have a major fatty liver , let’s say 395 out of 400, can this hide or hinder finding cirrhosis??

I thought your fibroscan had returned a kPa score of 20.5 which for NAFLD would be reflective of F4/cirrhosis so it's already 'found' that degree of damage.

Have you had an ultrasound? That's probably the next logical scan to assess whether the fibroscan result is accurate.

What are blood tests revealing? Fibroscan can struggle to tell the difference between inflamed liver tissue and actual fibrosity so if bloods are currently indicating inflammation your fibroscan can potentially be providing a false high reading.

Other tests like ELF (Enhanced Liver Fibrosis) test or Fib-4 can also confirm degrees of fibrosis.

You can have fatty liver without having cirrhosis but if the fat is severe (and you do nothing about it) it causes scarring.Scarring is cirrhosis.

Your high cap and kPa are in keeping with a diagnosis of cirrhosis.

Mine were similar 7 years ago and both now quite a bit lower.

Lifestyle changes are letting me live a bit longer.
