images & Fibroscan shows that i have cirrhosis since more than 12 years. biopsy & Blood test before three years showed fibrosis between F2 to F3 but no cirrhosis , in your opinion which tools is more reliable and do you have such experience of contradiction's during the course of your disease and what was the correct diagnosis if you finally came to know and confident of it .

Boy that is a loaded question. I know for my wife her Biopsy had shown NASH F2 possibly F3, her imaging showed normal but fatty liver. Her LFT's were 100% normal. Except her Albumin (low) and Bilirubin (high) although not jaundice levels. Her GI showed no varices but a friable mucosal lining. Based on that the one doctor said she had cirrhosis.

Maybe you could rephrase your question and give a little more info. Ie symptoms, time line.

Hi Alan, I well understand that English is probably not your first language so something is getting a little lost in translation.

Are you saying you have had a cirrhosis diagnosis for 12 years but tests done in the last 3 years are saying only F2 to F3 with no cirrhosis and so throwing into doubt your initial cirrhosis diagnosis (or indeed this is potentially an improvement in your condition - rare but not unheard of if the cause of the condition was halted) or did the F2/F3 results come before your eventual cirrhosis diagnosis - thereby showing that it had progressed from F2-F3 and is now F4/cirrhosis?

If you have been having regular, 6 monthly routine scanning of your liver (as is the normal protocol with a cirrhosis diagnosis) have they been reporting that your liver remains cirrhotic.

Biopsy and blood tests alone wouldn't be accurate enough to clear you of having cirrhosis since it's possible with the tiny samples they take they could have missed the areas of cirrhotic tissue. Bloods can be normal/near normal even with cirrhosis IF your cirrhosis is compensated and stable.

An accurate diagnosis would be obtained using a combination of all factors, tests and scans.

thanks Kaite , yes i do have cirrhosis 12 years ago and may be much more , as i did Firboscan before 12 years and it was 26 Kp , and before 3 years , i did biopsy and showed fibrosis between F 2 & F3 and even enhanced liver fibrosis test showed the same result between F2 & F3 , by the way any of these test can be a tool for diagnosis ( Ultra sound , MRI , CT Scan , Fibroscan , ELF . Biopsy ) however the concern is when these tools has contradicting results , which one should be followed , which one is more sensitive for cirrhosis diagnosis , they say Biopsy is the golden standard , but as you mention the biopsy could be taken from place where liver has no cirrhosis at that part but that is less likely to happen , but actually in my case it might be the case , and i think i have patchy disease or partial cirrhotic , because fibroscan before 2 month was , 46 and before three weeks was 17 kp , some times if they repeat the test immediately they get two different values , one time in 2021 , it was 16 Kp with IQR 25 , After 5 minutes doctor repeated and it was 12 with IQR 11 . and recently one professor advised me to use Magnetic resonance elastography to know exactly the amount of fibrosis ,
