Yes, I was surprised how easy it is to get, the main thing for me has been I don't have a photo to provide at the moment, I know that sounds silly, but I rarely leave the house except by taxi too hospital or a family friend and don't have the energy to go anywhere near to a photo place.
I think there will be a problem developing in the future because many other people who don't deserve them, have gotten hold of them and they are becoming difficult to enforce because there are a lot of hidden disabilities so am sure enforcement, must struggle to know who are legit holders and who aren't.
The problem I think in the future is that they will reduce the power of the blue badge, which will have more of an impact on those of us who are genuinely disabled.
Thank you Debby for that update. It’s really good to hear that for once something that is so useful is so red tape free and easy for us to obtain. The levels of difficulty usually thrown at this means that very often those in most need fall foul at the first hurdle. Thumbs up for easy access 👍👍👍
I’m really glad you and Fides have managed to get bluebadges. If you qualified for these, I’m wondering if you might be eligible for other benefits. You might want to try the Turn2Us website. They have a benefits checker. Citizens advice can help you apply for any you are eligible for if it’s a struggle
Yeah PIP is really useful for me, but then like you say I am on low income support, too sick to work atm. I got my PIP through CAB, very helpful, I qualifed under special rules.
