Lump on Liver

Hi again, I was discharged after my transplant assessment as I was not ill enough yet to go on the list.

I have a decompensated liver, crohns disease and diabetes.

On a routine ultrasound last week they noticed a lump in my liver and referred it as urgent to my specialist. I have chased a few days to see what happens next and what is it that resulted in such an urgent referral.

I have been told by the liver nurse that I have been referred for an MRI Scan and that they cannot rule out cancer. (I asked if that is what it might be)

I ran the MRI department and was told the scan would be upto 4 weeks as not marked urgent, should I now sit and wait or query it as it seems urgent to me.

Has anyone else been in this situation

My hubby twice waited 12 weeks for a follow up MRI after lumps were seen on his ultrasound and these had been requested on an urgent basis so a 4 week wait isn't too bad.

In both cases the additional lumps in hubbies liver just turned out to be some extra dense bits of cirrhotic tissue rather than anything more sinister but u/s alone couldn't determine that. He also has a number of benign haemangioma and liver cysts. 9 times out of 10 lumps and bumps turn out ok but there is an increased risk of cancer in cirrhotic tissue hence the reason for routine 6 month screening.

Have you had a alpha feto protein blood test done recently? No doubt you will have had at t/p assessment.
