First of all, I'm hep c positive, diagnosed decades ago. Everything has been 'good' until recently. I had some bloodwork done about a month ago. My liver enzymes spiked (they've always been good), so my GI doctor ordered a fibroscan. The result was a 13, so I was diagnosed as F3 via the scan. Since I got the news of the the spiked enzymes, I've been experiencing lower abdominal discomfort and digestive issues. I went to see my general doctor, and he is treating this as a separate issue, and not as a symptom of hep c.
I want to get going on the treatment, but the concern is the abdominal issues might delay the start, until they figure out the cause. I'm thinking it's all related to symptoms of the virus, and the treatment might clear that up.
Great informative board, by the way. Any thoughts on this?
