I have not drank alcohol for 5 months now, managed to loss some weight. Had a US scan nov 22 and also back in 2016 both diagnosed a fatty liver. Blood results were doing down slowly but last test, last week GGT & alp went up. I have had flu last week .. do you think this could affect the liver function tests ?
Also I’ve not been told to avoid any otc medication or herbal medicines but should I avoid these .. just really worried all the damage I done to liver when drinking will not reverse

Hi there, I am 14 months out of hospital ( not had one single alcoholic drink since ) and my blood tests alt, biliburin, globalin etc are all good but.. my GGT and ALP are never right, they are always high. In fact my ggt has risen on every blood test since I got out. My heptologist doesn't seem to be that bothered about it, it's the alt and others they are interested in it seems but that's just me. Thought this little bit of info about my situation may be helpful. Paul
thanks fo me your reply, my alt is also raised but not as much as the other 2. Well done you for being 14 months AF x
I have a call with doctor next week and I will see what they think x I was referred to a liver specialist but they don’t seem bothered about seeing me / so maybe that’s a good thing x but it’s so hard not to worry isn’t it xx
