Hi, welcome to the club! The PBC Foundation has excellent information and a helpline. Personally I don’t drink and just try to eat a healthy balanced diet. I haven’t had any problems with Urso, but my pharmacist gave me more information than my doctors and I started on a low dose and built up. I also split the dose and take some morning and evening with food. I’d recommend talking to a pharmacist to get advice. It can be a big adjustment being diagnosed with a chronic illness so be gentle with yourself

In relation to Urso, has your doctor told you that it's for life? Don't stop taking it.

no I wasn’t told it was for life

I have a follow up appointment in 4 months time to see Consultant and a blood test in 1month to check Urso is working

It can take a while for Urso to take full effect, so don't worry if your results aren't there yet after a month. You've been given great advice already, good luck with it all.

Hi Eppy, I’ve been on Urso for over a year and I haven’t had any side effects. My review showed it is working and my consultant is very happy that I have responded well to it. As for diet I’m still working on that but generally I try to stay away from fast food.
