Yes, I leaked fluid from my skin on my abdomen and legs from my ascites caused by my liver failure. Mine was caused by alcoholism. Best wishes, glad you have appointment soon.
Hi Zengal79
Thank you for your reply he's been told that there is no Ascites he had CAT Scan and Ultrasound I ask his specialist if it could he be retaining water as he lost 42kg and Then put it all back in the space of month despite him eating like a bird but he said there was no evidence on the either of the scans did you have any other symptoms if you don't mind me asking and again if you don't mind tell me how was this treated?
Hope you are feeling well ❤️x
My ascites went to my fatty tissues not inside my abdominal cavity initially. So, I was told there was no fluid but what the reality was there was DRAINABLE fluid. Being a weigh loss surgery patient, I had extra skin tissues. This made my skin rip and tear easily. I also would leak fluid through pores. Diuretics, low sodium diet and fluid restriction helped over time. My abstinence made it no longer much of an issue for now. Sorry I can’t help more. Scary stuff.
no, you have helped more than you will ever know I think that's probably happening with my husband but the specialist we saw was very condescending and just ignore me as though I wasn't there we are seeing a different Dr on Wednesday so hopefully, he will be more willing to listen. Thank you for taking the time to reply again, I feel a bit better now knowing that someone has experienced the same thing you start to think you are going Mad. Hope your liver stays stable and good luck with staying alcohol-free ❤️😘
Hi Dobie,
Don't take this the wrong way, but, hopefully the problem will still be there next week so he can show the consultant at the clinic. If not, still mention it.
I didnt have this problem in my abdomen, but did have the same issue on my legs. I would leak fluid through my skin on my legs, shins and calfs especially, due to the fluid accumulation there.
Hi Kristian
No I’m the same I hope it is still happening too at his appointment because I said along he was retaining water but the Dr said there was no evidence on the CAT or the Ultrasound but he’s see a new specialist so hopefully he not as arrogant as the last Dr 🤞hes been on this liver journey now for 2 years and he's no farther forward and he getting fed up with feeling ill all the time
Thank for your reply ❤️😘x
My Mum had fluid leaking from her legs when she had ascites. It only happened once and then went away. It was weird and quite scary until we knew what it was. Our cat had sat on her lap and been kneeding her so we blamed the cat for puncturing her skin. It did stop though.
Hi Readlots
Thank you for taking the time to reply to my question much appreciated 💞
I had looked on The internet but couldn't find anything about fluid leaking from the abdomen so I thought I would see if everyone had experienced this and one member had so I had some info that I can put to the specialist on Wednesday and hopefully they will do something 🤞like you said it scary when something so unusual happens like this! Hope your Mum is doing well best Wishes Deb❤️😘xx
