This is my second time posting on here, but my first post since my liver biopsy. They took five pieces of my liver from different parts and there was no disease or fibrosis found. This is after four fibroscans showing f zero fibrosis, two ct scans showing normal organs, multiple normal bloodwork results, normal hormone results, and multiple ultrasounds showing mild fatty liver only. So there is nothing else to do. I've done it all... However, I still have liver pain that comes and goes, muscle wasting (my legs are dwindling continuously), testicular atrophy, loss of appetite and what looks to be possibly Terry's nails. I am gaining weight because I force myself to eat but my muscle is wasting... It's mind numbingly maddening... What is going on? I was an alcoholic hardcore for ten years and my symptoms started after my last binge.. My legs would jerk at night and i would have chest pain after i drank .. Those symptoms went away in time with abstinence and I have since quit alcohol but these other symptoms are really messing with my mind.... my last doctor told me there's nothing wrong and to see a psychiatrist... What do I do? There's no other tests to do and it's breaking me mentally... Is there anyone that can shed some light on this situation for me or anyone that's been through the same thing that can chime in? Thank you for any and all help in this matter.
Is there anyone out there who's gone t... - British Liver Trust
Is there anyone out there who's gone through this before??? Please help...
Hello Arf, I already wrote to you in the last thread that I have very similar symptoms. Only a second opinion pathologist could describe my biopsy. The first pathologist was ill-informed about this liver disease. He wrote in his report that there was no cirrhosis and there was moderate periportal fibrosis with no signs of inflammation. I specifically requested and insisted on a second opinion from a more experienced pathologist. The second pathologist saw signs of nodular regenerative hyperplasia (NRH) of the liver and histological signs of impaired liver microcirculation consistent with non-cirrhotic portal hypertension (NCPH). Consider taking an ammonia blood test if you haven't already had one. I am not saying that you can have the same. But you need to be sure that this is not the case.
Which country are you from?It all depends on the pathology report of your biopsy and whether this in interpreted correctly. I have many awful symptoms and only a liver biopsy diagnosed me with NRH
My biopsy was sent to Addenbrooks hospitalMy fatty liver & stenatosis is caused by my immune system
Basically it attacks the good organs & not the bad 😫
Keep up the good work & hope you get the answers you are looking for on this excellent forum 🥰
Well done on quitting the alcohol🥳🫲🫲
have you checked out for any neuro muscular issues? And EMG test? Neuropathy from drinking can do it too.
