Hi

I have just received my antibody test result and I am very very nervous.

I will of course talk to my doctor but she is very busy.

smooth muscle <100

ANA <14

mitochondria <100

Does this mean cirrhosis? can alcohol induce these antibodies?? (I don't drink anymore)

please you with knowledge about this can answer?

Please

A certain percentage of the healthy population have smooth muscle antibodies present so your test results may mean nothing. I expect the doctor will refer you for further tests to make sure. Your results don't mean you have cirrhosis nor are they caused by alcohol. In my case I had a positive ANA and positive smooth muscle antibodies, had further blood tests for immunoglobulins, a liver biopsy and was then diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis which is not the end of the world.
