last week Tuesday I had my second liver biopsy. I would definitely describe it has one of the worst experiences in my life. Hospital staff was amazing, However the pain I had after the procedure was awful.
I had zero painkiller before the procedure and after they gave me paracetamol in IV. Within in few minutes after the procedure I start to have pain in the liver area and on my neck, within less then 10 minutes I couldn’t stay still from pain and I was in tears. I then had morphine to settle the pain down that took a full hour to settle down.
I have PSC, I would like to know if other had a similar experience and I would like to know if people with PAC suffer more during the delicate procedure, cause even if some discomfort of local anaesthetic I think it’s not fun as a procedure especially with hardly zero painkiller.
Thank you

I had horrendous pain and massive blood pressure drop after my biopsy, sent the nurses into panic mode ! I was on IV morphine for 8 hours and continued to have serious pain for months afterwards. The Dr thought he’d possibly nicked my diaphragm during the biopsy. I won’t be having another one that’s for sure !
