Liver biopsy all booked

Good morning everyone. Thank you for all the advice I have received on this forum. Just wanted to let you all know that I am having my liver biopsy on 13th May. My Dr thinks I have had a long standing steatohepatitis due to uncontrolled cholesterol and triglycerides. The biopsy should reveal more or confirm this diagnosis. Still have daily pain especially after eating so I am really hoping for the answers. By the way does anyone know if there is any preparation needed before the biopsy like fasting? I am having it under local anaesthetic but ultrasound guided. Thank you all and have a good day.

No eating or drinking ( except water) for 6 hours before, no water for 2 hours before. You should have instructions with your appt letter.

Good luck Millie2014, im sure the hospital said to pack overnight bag, but if not, pack an over night bag lok🙂. I ended up staying over, nothing serious , think it was just down to timing.

I thought I’d be out the same day but due to timing issues(I had to lay flat and try not to move for 6 hours) had to stay overnight so take a bag just in case.
