Been of drink for 4 months after 2nd time in hopspital never thought i would ever be able to give up. my job from young collecting glasses at 12 years old to running my own pub at 25 till i was 47 before i finshed work, my life has always been one long session. I had Jaundice looked like bart simson, after reading peoples storys has got me through and positive to stay away from the demon drink. I just waiting for results of bloods. I still go to the pub everyday just drink pop. i get the urge sometimes but waking up every day fresh its like a new life i got. I used to drink about 16 pints a day bottle of wine with dinner endless supply of beer and partying. I got HE last time collasping on the floor even after 2 or 3 pints ,did not relaise what harm was doing to myself it was a wake up call and i know i been given a second chance no more drink for me any more.

You’ve done incredibly well. A big pat on the back. It sounds like alcohol was front and centre of your life, which included your way of making a living. It’s tough to stop given all that. Keep going and your liver will thank you. Don’t get despondent if your bloods don’t come back perfect. As my consultant said to me, ‘it’s taken a while to do this to your liver, it’s going to take a while for it to forgive you!’ You are already feeling the effects of not drinking, that will certainly continue if you keep away from alcohol. Congratulations. 👏

Amazing 👏!! you should be very proud ! .it must have been difficult with you working surrounded by alcohol 24/7.it was hard enough for me and I never worked in the industry .Like you , it wasn't until I looked pregnant, with a massive tummy , massive ankles and feet and a non existent appetite for food and bleeding that I was taken to hospital and given the news of my stage 4 cirrhosis and 6 months to live with liver failure..here I am 14 years to the week , cannot believe it as I was sure I would be dead by now.

With hard work, yet a blip along the way I'm very happy to be still sober .

You may find it will be a rollercoaster ride , as I found out that's what cirrhosis causes , good days bad days, some days so so tired 😫 I could scream as its difficult to plan anything.

But it's so much better than demon 😈 drink 🍸!! Any time of the day .

Keep going, if ever you need inspiration or help etc this is the place

Good luck

congratulations 👏👏👏 on your progress and determination. I can't even imagine how one can achieve such success after drinking 16 pints a day!! This is like 8litres... I'm impressed and wishing you all the best 😘.
