I got them when I was on steroids. Seems to have settled down now off them. What meds do you take?

You'll need to get your platelet levels checked. It is not unusual to have easy bruising with liver conditions and it's usually to do with low platelet count and blood not clotting as quickly.

Bring it up with your doctor when you next have your appointment.

What Katie said is spot on. I can almost guarantee that’s what the problem is. Low platelets .

Start drinking more OJ as It builds your platelets

And avoid Cranberry juice as it lowers you platelet count.

I received platelets at the hospital recently after dental surgery I have liver problems

I bruised a lot leading up to the platelet transfusion

Drinking oj helped me and I was told to avoid cranberry juice

I have low platelet count also and my arms are covered with purple bruises just from doing everyday things. No one has ever told me about the OJ thing! I can't believe my hepatologist never mentioned it.

I wonder if a Vitamin C supplement might help? OJ can upset my stomach.

Get a platelet count. Mine was 8000 when I was bruising most. Nothing I ate or drank that has been suggested ever brought up my counts.

I have had significant bruising for years, I knew it was because of my liver but have never had it explained why or to drink oj.

It is said that there are foods and vitamins are good for you if you have a bleeding issue or platelet issue - there is much stuff on the internet about this, I won't link since there is a ton of stuff out there about this. All I will say is OJ is mentioned and Vitamin K foods like Spinach are often mentioned as well, but you can find much more just by googling.

Not paranoid at all. I used to be covered in bruises everywhere and thought it was just me. Was diagnosed with Cirrhosis last year and was told that's why I was bruising. Since I been on my medication, the bruising has stopped completely :-)

A bit off topic but fish oil causes me to bruise so have since stopped and bruising is normal now

Bruises come with the territory for the low platelets liver disease causes. So, an oncologist told me to use protein drinks. Ascent "Slow" is a great one! It is best used at night for it keeps the disease from eating our muscles all night. Rather than Whey it is Casium a different component of milk.

The oncologist told me that the proteins bulk up the walls of our blood vessels so they do not rupture as easily. It is also a serious help for aeseties when that times comes and our gut starts to leak. Protein mixes are the ticket and much more potent and cheaper than "Boost" of other individual drinks.

I have been fixing hard boiled eggs as well for middle of the night snacks for the protein in them.

I have to use the drink nearly daily or I will bruise in a few days from the last shake.

Good luck.
