Hello all. I'm a 43yr old 15yr heavy drinker quitting alcohol. I am terrified I am too late. I have noticed recently signs that I may have cirrhosis and have upcoming DR appts to do tests but in the meantime my anxiety is very high and google has me dying in 6months.
My question is about Palmers Erythema for those of you that experience it.
My hands first thing in the morning after waking or while sitting with hands at or above chest level look pretty normal. Quickly after waking and having hands at sides or below heart they become red to Very red and blotchy across most of the palm and tips of the fingers. The entire hand and fingers go red not just the palms. The level of redness can change and from noticeable, to wtf?!At the same time this also happens on the back side of the hands (to a somewhat lesser extent) .
Can those of you with palmers tell me if this description sounds similar or does it sound like something else .
Thanks to all.

Hi please don’t use dr google! Type in NHS and then what to know about. I had Palmer and a liver flap, I am now 6 years since my diagnosis and my symptoms and blood tests are normal, it’s hard work but worth it. First stop alcohol and salt, cook a high protein high calorie with fruit and vegetables. No processed foods, but treat yourself to chocolate every now and then. If you’re struggling to eat try small and often. Good luck
just to add if you are a heavy drinker then it can be dangerous if you suddenly stop without medical supervision. You can become seriously unwell. The best thing would be to contact your GP in the first instance who can offer advice and support. Don't just go 'cold turkey'
