Very important post- all members to read please

Dear Forum members,

We are a small nursing team who moderate the forum as well as our other roles in the British Liver Trust. We work very hard to keep the forum the supportive empathetic and helpful place it has always been for the past 8 years.

The forum is NOT a medical forum, it is peer to peer support. This is clearly stated in the community rules that every member is asked to read.

During the past few months our team have had to spend hours reviewing reports of abuse and trying to stop members constantly bickering and arguing.

This is NOT what our forum is for.

Over the past day the team have been verbally abused and ridiculed. This will not be tolerated and members have been reported and restricted.

If the toxic environment continues we will have to review the longevity of our forum.

We urge everyone to act with kindness, respect each others views and treat us ALL with respect.

We would like to also thank the forum members who have supported the nursing team and tried to reiterate the rules of our community, it is much appreciated.....

With thanks

Trust1 and the nursing team
