Hi

My relative had an episode of hepatic encephalopathy last year. He been put on medication and the lactose. However I am worried we are starting to see the signs again.

Sadly due to there age they are not eligible for a transplant What is the best thing to do?

Thanks

Call 111 now. Tell them what you have written here , let them know you are very concerned and see what is suggested by the doctor who will call you back. Best of luck. Let us know how you get on.

Good morning,

It is really important that the medical team are aware of the deterioration, there may be a reason for this such as infection, dehydration, constipation etc. and if so it could potentially be treated.Either way, please let the medical team know.

regards
