A little confused

Hi,

Last Saturday I had an US. The report stated that my gallbladder fossa was abnormal and there was Omental thickening in the right upper quadrant. It also stated 'ALERT new cancer patient '

Obviously this came as something of a shock. I was having the US due to pain in the right side and continual white stools (sorry) The GP thought that this may be due to the Gallbladder surgery I had two years ago.

I am convinced that the abnormal fossa could be due the surgery and therefore nothing sinister. I have no idea what the Omental is except it is some sort of fatty layer that surrounds the organs in the abdomen. I am seeing a liver specialist on Thursday morning under the 2 week referral system.

I can't get my head round this because all my liver function tests are great. Surely if my liver was struggling they would be out of kilter?

I know that no one on here can Diagnose but if anyone has any ideas or advice I would be very grateful.

Hi Jackery, welcome to the British Liver Trust forum. I hope you get some answers on Thursday - I would suggest taking a pen and paper with you, sometimes remembering everything said at an appointment can be a challenge.Warmest wishes,

Thanks Trust10, That is excellent advice. Whilst I don't expect to be told to much tomorrow, I know I will probably struggle to remember everything said. Possibly more tests so here's hoping for a positive outcome.

Good Afternoon, just a quick update.Saw the lovely consultant on Thursday. As expected didn't get any specific answers.

The consultant explained that she was unsure about what she was seeing on the ultrasound and described them as weird. I am being sent for an emergency ct scan as this will reveal more. She told me not to worry so I am going to try to take her advice.
