Read on internet that cholesterol is lower with cirrhosis. Mine is high and I’ve been eating low fat food because of fatty liver, I give up.

Having high cholesterol can contribute to fatty liver and lead to liver damage. It's possible to have high cholesterol and cirrhosis and these patients sometimes get treated with statins. However, it might get to a point where liver can no longer produce cholesterol and that's when it might be low in a cirrhosis patient.

From what I understand all tests you've had confirm you don't have cirrhosis so keep looking after yourself as regards fatty liver and hopefully you'll not need to be concerned about cirrhosis.

I’ve had 3 LFTS in the last two weeks, all normal. Now I’m worried sick because the cholesterol result doesn’t reflect my diet over the last 6 months. Hair loss, blurred vision and constipation, now high cholesterol. It’s all a big mystery.

Thanks Katie, my diet is healthy now and strictly no alcohol. All I can think is it’s taking a while to get rid of it from my lifestyle before Christmas. Read where a liver not functioning well can stop clearance of cholesterol but according to bloods it is functioning normally.

Stop googling and reading even more into everything you read. You are doing everything to help reduce your fatty liver now go and do something more positive and worthwhile than stressing over whats on Google. Try reading lighthearted books or find new hobbies and pastimes instead of wasting your life staring at screens.... it's doing your head in... you're worryingly addicted to googling 🙈🤯

Hi, I would be happy if I had 3 LFT's that were normal. I'm 2 years post tp and very rarely have I had a blood test that hasn't shown some abnormality or another.

I have to go for a fibroscan next Tuesday, I've never had one before I don't know if it's routine after tp or not but I'm not going to worry about it there's no point.

As Laura has said stop googling and find a hobby, I recommend diamond art painting it's addictive.

It’s just my symptoms that’s stopping me from moving on. Good luck with fibroscan. X

No excuse.... my late husband was walking every day, reading books and doing everything he could including helping his mother with her garden until he was admitted to the high dependancy unit for the final time, having lived with cirrhosis for 4 years, then liver and kidney failure. Its just you stopping you obsessing about having normal test results. Get over it and get on with life !

Since finding out about my liver issues I have decided to focus my time on actually living life rather than googled everything and spending days worrying. Let's be honest, if you do have issues (I dont think you do though) do you really want to spend your remaining life worrying about it or actually living ?

The very fact you are worrying so much tells me there's not actually anything wrong. You have severe health anxiety which is taking over your life. Constant need for reassurance is another sign of health anxiety. Try and stay off this forum and avoid googling, yes its hard but you need to try. I actual think that even if the best consultant in the UK told you you were healthy you wouldn't believe them!

I have sympathy for you as I have been there myself. I had an obsession with pancreatic cancer for about 3 years. I was convinced I had it and it was taking a toll on my marriage and my life. I used to sit zoned out worrying about it. I was convinced I had symptoms and hated the fact nobody would believe me. The doctor then told me I had an actual issue with my liver and like some kind of miracle my pancreatic symptoms disappeared! WHAT A MIRACLE! Not. It was just my brain refocused on something else. I now realise it was because I needed a focus in my life and my health anxiety was just that. My only focus in life. I now exercise 3 times a week, walk my dog, I'm learning crochet, going out to see friends regularly. Funny how my health anxiety has all but disappeared now I have a more fulfilling life.

There are people on here with life limiting illnesses and yet you are healthy but proceed to refuse to accept you are well. Most these people would love to be in your position. Embrace your life and live it!!!!
