ALT High - how long till it comes down?

How long does it take (on average, I know everyone is different) to bring down liver enzymes (high ALT)? I had my blood work done on April 30th and having another panel done end of June. I'm wondering if I'll see any improvements. I started a diet (to lose weight) which involves, low calorie, veg, lean meats, very few carbs and no alcohol. I've also started taking cycling classes everyday for 20 mins. I will be continuing on this way of living for the foreseeable future for sure

My ultrasound I did almost a month ago said I had mildly enlarged liver and moderate fatty infiltration I have had no further testing Doc told me to keep up what I'm doing and my liver should heal itself in time (although I didn't ask how much time)

Is this a few months thing? Or a 6-12 months?

I've set this as a goal and am basically competing with myself to see if I can get it down lol.

Thanks for listening (reading) to me blabber.

Hi I am similar to you. High ALT and gamma.... 6 months on reduced but not massively so have booked a private consultation with a liver specialist this Wednesday.Everything you read says 3-4 weeks and it goes back to normal but I guess it depends on so many things.

Like you I have ditched the drink since jan and just hope I get some answers Wednesday.

I only had an ultrasound back in nov and that was completely clear not even fatty liver so I’m not sure if it’s just inflamed still and will just take time.
