How accurate is fibroscan?
Have you had the formal report back from your ultrasound yet? The sonographer obviously said your liver was ok but have you had that confirmed by the doctor?
Fibroscan is generally a guide taken along with bloods and other tests, on it's own it isn't used to diagnose anything but can be part of the jigsaw of tests which are put together to reach a diagnosis.
Generally it is relatively accurate though it can give false high readings if the liver is inflamed (yours isn't if ALT and AST are normal). Fibroscan can't tell the difference between ongoing inflammation and actual fibrous tissue) also can depend on the operator as to where readings are taken - some folks have reported higher readings when a rib has been scanned rather than just purely 10 readings of the liver. Unlikely to get a false low reading on fibroscan.

Here's an article about the accuracy of the Fibroscan and other imaging tests. The paper suggests an accuracy near ~80%. There are many other studies on this topic, specificity and sensitivity will depend on the cutoff values used to diagnose a condition.
