Lack of sleep on Prednisolone

Hi

I have started taking my steroids but they are keeping me awake until the early hours of the morning. Can anyone suggest how I could get a good night's sleep. I have alot of energy which is why I'm up till 3am.

I don't want to take sleeping pills

I had this problem.. You could try taking them early morning

When my hubby is on his steroids he takes them as soon as he gets up ... around 6am. Yes he has loads of energy but sleeps well at night. ( I should add it's not for liver problems in his case. )

I’ve only been on it a couple of times (not related to liver issues) but my doctor recommended only taking it in the morning.

I had the same issue but sleep does come back when your dose tapers down to your maintenance level.

Camomile tea and two antihistamines and only take steroid in the morning.

I have been on various doses over the years, for liver disease, and always on a maintenance dose of 5mg daily.I find if I take them very early morning too , it doesn’t disturb my sleep.
