Met with Liver consultant today.

Ok so 2 months ago I had a fibrascan due to some transient liver bloods, not bad just out of normal. Had the scan no real concerns given a NAFLD and CAP of 250, and fibrois score of 2.3. The Fatty liver was to high. So for 2 months I had a strict diet, exercised everyday, no drink, no smokng, no snacks. Roll on yesterday, repeat scan (done twice) CAP now 340, and fibrois 4.6 . Spoke to the consultant today, he is not unduly worried given the fibrous part is still in normal range. But said it was unusual, that the numbers should be going down not up. I asked Why, and answer was I don't know. So what could could be causing it? Anyone else experienced anything like this? If it keeps doubling for no reason then when does it stop, seems something is forcing me to lay down fat on my liver, could it be I am not absorbing enough fat, should i get my bile tested? Any suggestions. Actually sent resultants to two experts, same answer We dont know..

Hi there and welcome to the British Liver Trust forum. I see that you are worried and you have not received the answers you were looking for from your specialist. Members of the forum cannot speculate on your fibroscan/CAP results as we are not medically trained. Could I suggest going back to your specialist or GP and explain your anxiety with regards to your results? Best wishes, Trust10
