Newbie with ‘Grossly’ raised GGT, LFTs and Hyperthyroidism

Hi everyone, I’m a newbie and would like some information and I guess, reassurance, as after a couple of blood tests and scans, I’m being referred to a specialist for further investigation (this coming Thursday eve). The bloods show GGT level of 279 and raised LFTs. Also the test shows hyperthyroidism which, according to my GP, is ‘probably’ not related so I’m seeing an endocrinologist in a couple of weeks for that. I’m not a heavy drinker but am overweight, 52 years old and feel generally rubbish - which I’d put down to menopause. Anyway, I’m aware that a huge diet change is obvious but if anyone could share any relevant knowledge, etc, I’d be really grateful. Thank you very much.

Welcome to this friendly, supportive forum.

I have included links to Liver disease Tests Explained and the patient charter - which has a section at the bottom about 'questions for your doctor'
