I was wondering if anyone could tell me the affect covid 19 and painkillers could have on a liver function test ?
I had an elevated liver function test at the end of September and was advised not to drink alcohol . I didn’t drink anything for a month and during week 3 I had a positive covid test , I didn’t drink for another 2 weeks or so. But I did take paracetamol every day every 6 hours to try and prevent a fever .
I had another test and was devastated that the result was higher ? I’ve lost a stone in weight as the non drinking coincided with a slimming world membership . I am female and 55 years old
Any views would be welcome as I am anxious

Since your liver forms part of your immune system it probably wouldn't be surprising to find an elevation in LFT's with your body fighting the virus. Carry on with your healthy lifestyle changes and get a further liver test a bit further down the line. Hopefully, your covid hasn't come to anything.
I'm sorry I can't answer your question, but have a similar issue. I had a gallstone block my bile duct while I was positive for Covid-19. It's 18 days since my last positive test and over a month since my covid symptoms started, but I am still jaundiced. Bilirubin has gone down, but is still over 100, so they won't remove my gallbladder until I've had another MRI.I do feel that the covid has slowed my recovery from the jaundice, but obviously don't have any evidence. I took paracetamol too and haven't had any alcohol for a month.
