So my question is those with fatty liver, do those with fatty liver suffer alot with constipation or does that only start happening with cirrhosis?
As im sure everyone is aware hubbys got fatty liver (or so the drs say) and the last time he went to the hospital they said his pains he was having was caused by constipation, they gave him meds to take which he did, but that just caused him to have diaorreah , to the point where he didnt get to the bathroom in time. I told him maybe not to take as many as they suggested (3 sachets spread over 24 hours) and just take the one next time,he did and it still caused him to have to rush to the bathroom, Now a man who has very painful ,swollen legs and copd thats exausting and painful.
Im so at a loss with him. I dont know what to do anymore. I see hubby suffering from swollen belly, sleeping alot, not being able to eat much, most of the time feeling generally unwell and now this. I wonder what else life is going to throw our way..
Hope all are coping as well as you can be.
Take care
Lyn..

I have and all they say is they will contact the consultant , there is nothing they can do at the moment, until he has the camera down his throat which apparently they are sending the appointment out to him.
What i dont get is the dr said just before he went into the hospital that his bowel movements were normal. yet in the hospital a few hours later they are saying its constipation , ive lost count the amount of times hes been sent up the hospital because the drs are concerned and they have sent him home and in so many words saying there is nothing wrong with him.. I asked a friend advice because she worked on the wards that was filled with all sorts of patients and she said normal bowel movements are not a cause of constipation. Hes got to the stage where hes refusing to go the hospital when the dr suggests it now because its the same ole same ole, and its really not fair on him.
Its his best friends funeral tomorrow and hes told me he feels hes going to be too ill to go.
Im writing another letter to the drs, it will be my third one explaining how disgusted i am with the back and forth ,and no proper dianosis, i /we need to have a true diagnosis so at least we know what we are dealing with and least he can have some form of pain relief.Seems the only time they take notice is when i write to them.
Ill let you know what happens or if we manage to get an appointment with the consultant or the camera...
Thanks Lyn, yes we are all keeping well. Please do keep us posted.

Hello,
Laura is right, your husband needs a proper medical review - at the very least with the GP if not the hospital team. Does your husband have a hospital appointment any time soon - he needs proper manegment of all the issues that are causing you both to have such a miserable time. There is a fine balance in determining the correct amount of laxative to take but it is an important medication.
