Liver disease and medication issues

Hello.Wondering if anyone can help or shed any light on my symptoms at all.

I have been on blood thinning medication for almost 3 months and over the past 3 weeks, have started to experience headaches. Not the normal pounding headaches, but more of a tension headaches- best way to describe would be like having several elastic bands round your head. In the last couple of weeks I have also notice muscle loss in my legs.

I was diagnosed with fatty liver in 2016, and wondering if the medication I am taking is the cause of my symptoms, as I have read medication for people with liver disease can be a problem.

I have seen my GP who says my symptoms are not because of my liver - bloods tests were fine, and have been for several years. I did ask for an ultrasound / fibroscan but he said as my blood tests were normal - no scan is needed. This is reassuring but as my symptoms are still there, I am quite concerned.

Oh and I gave up alcohol about 10 years ago, but did drink quite regularly, especially at weekends, for 20 years before that.

Has anyone else experienced issues with medication and liver disease at all.

I am scared that I have cirrhosis but it has never been detected

If you have new, persistant or worsening symptoms it is important to seek medical assessment. It is also important not to assume any new symptoms are linked to a pre existing condition.

With regards to your medication affecting your liver condition - may I suggest you discuss this further with your GP or pharmacist - most medication labels will suggest caution if diagnosed with liver disease , therefore it is important to clrify what is safe for you as an individual.
