Good news and not as good news

Hi. I had my bloods redone a week after the first lot, and both are coming down (ALT from 124 to 116 and AST from 53 to 43) so that's promising. More bloods in about 3 weeks time.

However I've just found out it's going to be at least 6 weeks or more likely several months before I get an ultrasound. I'm still having all the symptoms, so that's a long time to sit and worry and then start treatment, or alternatively to start investigating other potential causes if it's not my liver.

Not sure how to feel.

All the best.

Hello,

It is good news that your blood tests are improving. If your symptoms persist and you still have no date for your ultrasound scan perhaps you could speak to your GP again , they may be able to help to expedite the appointment. You might also want to call the department where the ultrasound will be done to make sure they have had the request from the doctor - they may be able to give you a rough idea of a date too. If you have a hospital number that will help them to locate you on the system.

regards

Hi, thanks for that Trust5. I did call the ultrasound dept who gave me the vague waiting time that I put in my post. They said the doctor may be able to expedite.

When I asked the doctor he said they only do so in urgent cases, normally where they suspect cancer.

He said the levels aren't sky high and I shouldn't worry too much, but the numbers mean nothing to me.

All the best
