Just a plea to those who are able, to give a wee bit of spare cash to help the BLT to continue to do their fantastic work for all of us, at this critical time.
This pandemic is severely reducing their income from fundraising events, as you will appreciate, at a time when they are needed even more by us forum members some of whom are increasingly suffering anxiety and confusion about when they will be able to see their Doctors. I for one have had tests and consultations cancelled.
Hi David. Just to say l totally support the trust however last year l donated Β£10,000 to leukaemia research and any day now l will be recieving a vast amount of fabric as l have volunteered to make scrubs and masks for the Norfolk hospitals. But l wish you luck.
How did you get involved with the making of scrubs and masks? I ask because i am very good with a sewing machine,im not blowing my own trumpet but made a living as a seamstress for many years and i would be glad to offer my services if possible.
Oh wow snap ! Try googling scrub hub and then your County. Do you have industrial machines including an overlocker? Industrials are faster but I'm sure as long as you can overlock raw edges they would be pleased for another pair of hands. Xx
Ha ha, I gave it up for a bit after i got my degree but went back to it. Made everything from curtains/soft furnishings to wedding dresses. I cant do as much now as i get sore but still love it . Xx
I can't put a value on how much this place helped me make sense of what was the scariest time of my life to date. I've given a small amount and when things get back to normal I'll put something regular in place .
