Hi Alley,

Forum members have such varied problems and medications and what is ok for one may not be for another.

It's best to check with you GP or your liver nurses if you want to take anything other than what has been prescribed for you.

Sometimes the most innocuous of things can be a no no.

Best wishes.

Alf.

Hi Alley 27 I use buscapan while suffering sub acute liver failure. I was allowed to take at will, by the the liver Doctors while on the liver unit at Kings

I kept my own supply, I would never of cope with the extreme pain I was in with out using about every 3 hours. For 5 weeks, before my transplant. Do also check with your own Doctor first

I hope this helps

Hi Alley, I am prescribed mebeverine hydrochloride for my IBS, and loperamide for diarrhoea, and my consultant is aware, but as others here have said, please check with your doctor first.

Hi Alley,

As Alf has already said, everyone is different, so to be safe, we would suggest to discuss this query with your own medical team.

Best wishes

Check with your doctor as others have said. Until the last time when I was offered "Gas and Air" , I was given Buscopan when having my annual colonoscopy but that was only one dose when having the procedure. I understand that there are more risks with buscopan than gas and air. Again, check with your doctor.

I agree check with your doctor before taking anything. Buscopan appears innocuous but as it relaxes muscle tissue can lead to other problems e.g. trouble urinating.
