Good evening everybody. Maybe has nothing to do with cirrhosis but, does anybody else out there have a problem with noise driving them crazy? Tv souns, radio, even loud talking..everything above a low volume sounds piercing! Am I alone on this?

Hope you are all staying strong and lifting one another up during this ever changing disease.

God bless,

Jo

It could be hyperacusis. See an audiologist or ear nose & throat specialist to test your hearing & check if you have it. It's a poorly understood condition with the cause unknown. It can wax & wane & disappear if you are lucky. Check Google for information about it & YouTube for videos to see if it might be what you have.

Hi Makessa

Sorry to read about your hearing problem and hope your able to seek medical advice from your GP or audiology department soon! I suffer with tinnitus like my husband which is buzzing/ringing sound in the ears!

I wish you well my Aussie friend

I too have also started to find it hard to tolerate noise. Went to café yesterday and cld hardly hear my friend speak due to all the surrounding voices and could not wait to leave.

Then went to dept store and felt edgy, problem focusing and someone moved chair next to me when I sat down and it sounded like it was on a loudspeaker, it hurt and I jumped.

Also I have put up with building noise next door for over 2 years, but only recently does it sound unbearable, makes me anxious and angry. And they have finished the basement bit. In last few weeks I want to go over and complain, esp this morning, it sounds so loud!

Also I am getting floating black spots when I get stressed, like now!

I am definitely getting the personality changes, anxious and less tolerant.

Hi snowy

Lucky for me no noise problems yet but I have had floaters since I was 15 👎🏻. They definitely get worse when I’m tired or not feeling very well. It’s a bummer isn’t it, but for you so much worse I can imagine because of the noise issue.

Hope building work finishes soon 🤞. That’s awful to have to suffer through all that....

Hi! Thanks for getting back. It's not terrible yet. Mostly radio, tv, some voices. Everything just seems amplified and piercing. Actually with stage 4, I'm doing really well.

Hope all is well with you.

Hi Jo

Sorry I didn’t respond directly ☹️. Just get carried away sometimes and then forget! The latter is frequent!

What do you mean by “really well” - surely you have some ill effects? HE?
