Prostate warning

Hi everyone, I occasionally reply to folks if I can help. I am now 3 years post transplant. I really just want the guys to remember to have their prostate checked post transplant as we are at risk from this cancer. I have just got the results of my prostate biopsy and I have stage 4 cancer. I know a lot of men do not fancy the physical check. Believe me it is better than being told you have incurable cancer. Embrace the finger guys it could be the hand that heals you.

Had a long fight with cirrhosis and now I have take on prostate cancer. Glad your friend is ok. With me it is a question of keeping me going as long as possible stage 4 is repair only , await scans to check for spread. Hope some guys will get tested and catch it early .

Thanks David, the hardest thing thus far was telling my son's yesterday. I am a single parent. It is good to know there is a candle in the dark.

Hi andy-g,

Thank you for the reminder - I know I keep nagging the husband to get whatever tests are recommended by his doctors. Hope you knock this into next week!

Husband has had to put his boxing gloves back on - survived liver & kidney failure in 2015, with a diagnosis of cirrhosis due to alcohol. Just had his lower left lung lobe removed due to lung cancer. Irritating since the tumor was seen at the same time as his liver failure, but misdiagnosed so no one followed it. Ah well - life is just full of these little surprises for some of us.

Best of luck to you on this journey,

Mary
