Hi
You maybe need another appointment with your consultant. Perhaps get your Dr to push it. You could also phone your consultant's secretary, mine is very helpful. Take care Lynne
Fibroscans can give a false high reading where inflammation is present in the liver. If CT, Ultrasound and MRI didn't indicate cirrhosis then it's likely your cirrhosis level reading on fibroscan is a false high. In your previous post about your blood result you intimated that your ALT level was elevated - this is an inflammation marker and could perhaps explain why you have seen an elevated fibroscan score.
Make sure you read up on your condition. The BLT website has a page dedicated to Haemochromatosis. britishlivertrust.org.uk/in...
The more you can read up and learn about your condition then the more appropriate questions you can ask your medical team when you see them. Some doctors are terrible at not sharing information unless you ask them specific questions. If you learn about the condition you can then ask them these pertinent questions and get the most from your appointments.
Always take a notebook with list of current symptoms, list of current meds and all your questions written down and that way when the white coat syndrome kicks in you still come out with the info. you want/need.
