Hi
I was diagnosed with a fatty liver (284,5.8). I decided to change my lifestyle completely. Did another test 10-15 days later(291,5.7),basically no change.
Did another test yesterday(almost 2 months since my initial test. I got rid of the fatty liver(230) but my stiffness level was at 7.8. The doctor said this happens when someone gets rid of a fatty liver and should be back to normal in 1-1.5 months.
Should I be worried?
Depends why the liver was fatty in the first place I guess. If you’ve changed lifestyle and your liver’s no longer fatty, that sounds like a job well done.
I had a fibroscan recently and scored 7 (normal). That was my only ever fibroscan. The fat content was minimal which I was happy about as an ultrasound eight months earlier showed a fatty liver. I’d listen to what the doc says.
Just curious why you’re having all these fibroscans. Are they being done privately?

Interesting. As you know, the figures are the average of several results. There must be a lot of variation between readings each time. I’d listen to your friend the doctor. Unless you have some symptoms, maybe you don’t need any more fibroscans?
Yep,I think I better cut down on the Fibroscans😂😂. Might do one in 3-6 months in London
Dddd21, a good reason to cut down on fibroscans is that they are not very reliable indicators of fibrosis at the lower scale so if you interpret them as a licence to be less health- conscious they could land your body in a lot of bother. 
Fibroscan is an acoustic test so doesn’t send radiation inside like an X-ray does, but it’s very odd to want to have so many tests done. He’s been told all is OK. Not sure what he’s hoping to find with another test and another ...
The scan is not inherently harmful, my point is that the belief that it can indicate at low numbers that there's no fibrosis may well be harmful. If undertaken as a means of checking what risks a body can take, a person may be under the illusion that they are 'safe' in their lifestyle choices. But they may not be. Fibroscan is not a reliable indicator of fibrosis in the lower range of numbers.

I do suspect the opener poster wants to get his liver checked a lot rather than change lifestyle issues, but I hope I’m wrong.
