Husband nearly 2 months post transplant had large swollen glands in his neck last night. They have shrunk quite a lot this morning but he can still feel them. Does he need them checked at hospital today or can he wait 24 hrs?

If I remember, (it is almost three years ago) we transplantees have a jugular vein cannula put in during the operation. This I guess could have caused and infection, or it could just be a reaction to some of the drugs he's now presently taking, i.e. steroids.
Just for peace of mind, you should have a copy of the hospital discharge letter, here they record a list of all medication your hubby is presently taking. I would have a look at these online (Only use UK website). If you do decide to seek advice, you could always ring the transplant coordinators for some advice. Or even calling 111, I would avoid the local hospital as this could be adding to the risk of infection.
Good Luck
Hi Suzie111,
I have no experience with post transplant as husband still has his old liver.
I always fall on the side of call the liver doctor and let him know what is going on, then I wait and do whatever the doctor says. Sometimes they take a wait and see and sometimes they decide they need to see for themselves what is going on.
Hope all is well.
Best wishes,
Mary
