Varices bleed help
Have you made his doctors aware of the bleed and treatment in Spain? It sounds like he needs to see his doctors a.s.a.p. and perhaps the arrangements for transplant assessment put in place.
Katie
Yes I have informed the liver team of what happened in Spain and the bleed. The liver team were waiting to make final decision about transplant list before the bleed. As they found hole in heart when assessment was done. Heart specialist ok to undergo op for transplant. Not sure if now he’s had bleed that puts him priority. I am concerned about the stitch pain he has on his right hand side and belly swollen.
When is his next clinic appointment, the swelling sounds like it could be ascites. This needs checking as soon as possible.
Hi.its a massive pressure waiting once referred then to go through the process of worrying wether your body is actually healthy enough to have a TP.so I feel for you.but lots have gone through this trauma of worrying.i look back now and I’m thinking why was I stressing so much but you do especially if your life depends on being given the all clear for a TP.and the bleed will definitely push him a bit further up.i had a massive bleed between assessments and wonder how I actually got to them.because every bleed knocks you on your arse but the more you have the longer to recover and the sicker you seem to get.i hope you get listed so just stay strong your not on your own we’ve all been there.lots of love to you both.paul. Ps.also with my fourth bleed it seemed to accelerate the asities and the gastrointestinal problems and pain in my left and right side. The right Side being my enlarged spleen.that is in as much pain as it was pre TP.but other than that I feel great.
Thank you for help and advise. We speak to liver team in the morning. To see whether to go to them Cambridge or local hospital in Colchester. Keep you posted
Hi just to let you know he’s having ascite drain Tuesday. Also got fantastic news he’s on transplant list so relieved he’s on.
Congratulations really happy for you both.its a momentous moment and relieves a bit of stress now you can both see the light at the end of the tunnel.im three months post and I won’t lie it’s been a struggle. I wasn’t really expecting the length of time to recover but I’m getting there and now look and feel great.just today my two daughters were shocked at how well I look after not seeing me for a couple of weeks.its a gradual deterioration of your health with cirrosis as you know and you actually get used to being Ill and don’t realise how sick you actually are.i hope your wait is quick.mine was three months.so here’s hoping and I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.paul
Thank you. Talking to liver team tomorrow to see if he needs to go to hospital. Spanish doctors said for him to rest.
