I am Decompensated through alcohol. I have not had a drink since I was diagnosed last summer, I don’t count the days I think that would put more pressure on myself, I don’t need that as well. I just abstain as I was told to. I will meet with my Consultant again in July for us to discuss what happens next.
Tonight I noticed that I have been losing body hair, my legs, chest, arms are all virtually bald, something that has crept up without me taking any notice.
Does anyone else suffer from this as a symptom of their condition? Is it common and is there anything that can be done?

The hair loss is probably due to a hormonal imbalance. I started to notice that I was losing hair from the top of my head when I felt sick from liver function impairment. My libido also basically vanished & hasn't entirely returned. The liver regulates hormones like testosterone & estrogen. A cirrhotic liver can't produce the right amounts. Loss of body hair is probably linked to this. My hair appears to have stopped falling out after my liver health improved but my libido remains below what it was before my liver problems. A doctor would most likely be reluctant to give you hormone replacement therapy because it could lead to other problems.
My hair stopped growing at first but is now growing with a vengeance (I was first diagnosed with compensating 6 mts ago). It was one of the only upsides; not having to wax etc.
I am nearly 4 years post transplant and I lost most of my underarm hair and it has not returned. My head hair thinned before transplant but is normal now x
I have always been blessed with a good head of hair but even that is starting to show signs of thinning. Checked my underarm tonight and that has all but disappeared..
I noticed I also didn’t seem to be growing any body hair (I never even clicked it was with this) but I also went through early menopause which docs said that was due to my liver not regulating the hormones as it would if it was working properly. But now it has started to come back a bit, no idea why though.
