Hi, 'I'm new to the group....Partner just been diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. Tomorrow having a meeting to let us know what the Multidisciplinary Team have decided on which is the best treatment for him. For people that have attended same can you advise on reflection of your own meeting questions we should ask etc...Tumor is large and spots around it what we know so far and there is no chance of a transplant.
Look forward to reading your comments, any support/info we appreciate.

Hi there. I was in a similar position four and a half years ago. I had cirrhosis and HCC (2 tumours).Transplant was not an option for me. I had 2 sessions of TACE that shrunk the tumours considerably. I went on the TACE2 drug trial for 3 years "(daily chemotherapy tablets and 2 TACE procedures) The MD meeting will advise you of what is the best way forward for treatment for your partner. Every case is very different and so the questions to ask will vary. As I remember my main question was....How long will my life expectancy be if I go on the drug trial and how long will it be without. Remarkably I am now 7 months post transplant. Never give up hope! Hoping that everything goes as well as it can for you both tomorrow. Very best wishes to you both. Alf
