I have just been discharged from hospital after suffering from Pyelonephritis. While in hospital I had a number of blood tests and a ct scan, the scan didn't find anything abnormal but a liver function blood test came back with a bilirubin level of 27 all other liver function tests were fine. After speaking with my GP he said that due to my age(61) and being somewhat overweight that level is not an issue. Still a bit worried, can someone put my mind at rest, or should I seek a second opinion?

Your GP is right, the range is 0-21, I was 217 at one point and others on here have been higher.
You can find information on the Liver Trust website:-

Yes the correct range is 0-20, but my level is 27.

Have you got jaundice and what is the underlying problem that is causing your anxiety? You have a kidney infection and at a guess are being treated with antibiotics? I have no medical training but I have had a liver transplant. I looked like Homer Simpson. There were no whites in my eyes.
