Hi does anyone know the best time to take 80mg slow release ? With food or without?

Hi,

In the packet, there should be a 'patient information leaflet' which should give clear instructions.

However, if that isn't the case and you are unsure about anything concerning your prescription, contact the pharmacy which dispensed your medication.

I take without food till now, now i asked hematologist, he said its bioavailability is better with protein rich foods

Both. With a coffee when I get up and last thing at night before bed.

I'm on 10mg 3 times a day but nearly always forget the afternoon dose, I was given it after they found esophageal varices, if you read the leaflet it can cause hypothyroidism, lower blood pressure which I already have (apparently I'm a problem patient lol)

Yep that’s why I’m on it, they always say I’m a problem patient too lol

I take mine in the evening with or without food and have for years. Never a problem

Had mine at breakfast as sleep a lot in evenings so more chance of missing a dose. So far so good only been two n half hours lol

I was told by my doctor that having food before taking propranolol was not a essential.
