When I first joined this forum it was great.

There was always great advice and people sharing their journeys thru liver disease. But I only came here for that reason.

Users on here were only obscure usernames to me and only black and white typing.they were not real people.

Nowadays that we are starting to share with each other more often, people are not just usernames.

We are discovering that there really are people behind their posts.

It’s great to learn more about the people and share empathy with them.

It’s great to come on here now for a bit of a natter, learning more about the people and of course, the great advice.

I think what I’m trying to say is that this group are becoming friends and not just advice givers.

Cheers for listening.

Brett

Hi

I totally agree. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I know I have a good support network but it also helps getting advice from people who have gone through it. My consultant said I will need a transplant at some point so it's good to hear such positive post's. Thank you everyone. Take care Lynne

I certainly agree with Brett. Someone recommended this forum to me and I can honestly say that it's been a lifeline. I had no knowledge about liver disease and initially looked at a forum on Facebook but it is predominantly American ( and many are quite religious which I'm not). I do sometimes feel that I am asking questions constantly but I always get a pleasant answer which usually settles my mind. Keep up the good work peeps 😉 Deb

I’m on 2 FB cirrhosis groups. I spat the dummy about a time and place -deleted- But yes! They are 99% religion and herbal remedies. It’s also because their health system is very flawed and expensive that they turn to alternative remedies.

BTW! Please don’t go on a religion tangent because of my post please. Love 💖 and respect everyone. Well, apart from Bob. Never liked Bob 😂.

Everyone knows a Bob somehow 😂

Edited to keep everyone happy. Especially the mods.

I love you mods! You rock! Erm? Your not called Bob by any chance? Hahaha

PS. No offence intended to anyone called Bob. I’ve known quite a few nice Bobs in my time

Hi Brett, Couldn’t agree more. Left to Dr Google I had anything from seconds or decades to live depending where your head was at any given time. Having the ability to hear other people’s experiences with certain procedures can certainly take a lot of the fear away. I posted this week about my 12th embolisation from the patients perspective. This time I’ve actually had a rough time, not with the procedure but the recovery. I couldn’t keep anything down for 3 days and I thought wow this hasn’t happened before. My wife told me yes it has and that I have selective memory as it happened the second time as well. The upside has been I’ve lost 11Lbs since Tuesday, just in time for our holiday. Every cloud and all that. So as we see our shared experiences matter. And it’s my 59th Birthday today and I’m going to bloody well enjoy it. Oh and PRAISE THE LORD 😜😜😜😜 it was his fault I drank to oblivion for nearly 25 years.

Lovely post Brett - I am still new here but understand what you say. I am on another Forum and have been for about 3 years and we have all developed as good friends which helps so much in our battle. So it is really good to see people bonding on here. The lifelong route we are on is a hard one and buddies who know what we are talking, thinking, living and sleeping about, helps so much.

Keep motivated people and thanks to the likes of Brett (and others) you will.

Good vibes to all

Gwen
