Could any one explain what the liver parenchymal echogenicity appears increased throughout consistent with fatty infiltration .

That's on ultra sound and CBD (3..2mm)

Everything else normals.

No bladder wall pathology identified

Hi Faithfull, & getting a negative (no worries) result on your diagnostic journey is certainly better than the alternative (problems found).

I had an ultrasound 3 months into my alcohol recovery that showed a "mildly echogenic parenchyma, consistent with fatty infiltration" myself. A followup ultrasound a year into my recovery showed "normal liver".

Fatty liver is quite common now days, and fat is picked up well by ultrasound, so hopefully your radiologist's finding of increased echogenicity is just that. Mild fatty liver. Fibrosis/cirrhosis typically shows up as a "coarse echotexture", so glad you didn't get this reported!

Alcoholic fatty liver typically resolves on its own through a little clean living, & non-alcoholic fatty liver is treated through diet. Hopefully a followup scan will give a clean bill of health like I got after a year sober.

The CBD of 3.2 is great, as 7mm is the upper limit of normal which should rule out obstructive biliary disease.

Sometimes when all else fails, we have to trust our doctors. Hope any lingering symptoms you are having will clear up through clean living and tincture of time.

Hi hun. Well thats great news! One worry cleared up for you. ! And about time i say.

Hi9e things start to improve for you now.xx

Hi Faithfull,

Love to you. It seems that your health care people are getting things cleared up to some extent.

I don't know anything about "liver parenchymal echogenicity", perhaps you could call the person who sent the report and ask what it means and if there is anything you can do to make it better.

Good to hear that other tests showed things to be normal.

Thinking of you and wishing the best for you and your daughter.
