Hi- I was diagnosed with Stage 4 liver cirrhosis and ascites 2 years ago. Quit drinking, altered diet, and try to get enough sleep (never seems like enough.) Have a supportive, yet oblivious? Husband who is kind, yet just doesn't "get" what's going on- I think he feels as if it will just go away if we don't talk/aknowledge it. This board gives me hope and a needed reality check, I'm not the only one. Since diagnosed and actively fighting this- my outlook is improving, so is my physical health, lol, little by little and (today) I am hopeful!

Keep up the great work “ little by little” is great!!! Also your husband could be in denial, or really fearful and if he doesn’t say anything it could be his way of coping. My husband I thought didnt care but come to find out it was his fear of me dying that kept him from acknowledging my disease

Same thing happened to me 2 years ago. Stage 4 decompensated liver with terrible acites. I had hospice care for 9 months. Been off for a year. I slowly got better. Hepatitis b ate up my liver.of course drinking didn't help. Diuretics lactulose and new diet no alcohol saved me
