Dear all,
Please see the request below from Dr Charlotte Woodhouse, Clinical Research Fellow, Institute of Liver Studies King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
We are seeking a patient representative to participate in the Trial Steering Committee for the PROFIT trial (a prospective randomised placebo controlled feasibility trial of faecal microbiota transplantation in cirrhosis) which will look at the safety and feasibility of FMT in liver disease.
The Trial Steering Committee (TSC) is a panel of independent people comprised of experts and lay members, that meets on a regular basis (around every 6 months). The TSC ensures the trial is going well and that patients' safety and interests remain paramount. It also ensures that the investigators are adhering to the trial protocol and assesses any new information relating to the trial that may become available during the study period.
We welcome patient involvement and would be keen to hear from anyone with cirrhosis who may be able to offer a patient perspective.
The trial will take place at at King's College Hospital in London.
Please contact myself charlottewoodhouse@nhs.net or the Liver Research Nurse ane.zamalloa@nhs.net for further details.
