I have been recently diagnosed with liver fibrosis. Just wanted to know the stages of fibrosis.

How to know if you mild or sever fibrosis
Hello there,
The best thing for you to do is log onto the British Liver Trust website where you will find almost everything you will need to know about liver disease.
There you can find information that will help you to understand your condition, symptoms, treatment and lifestyle changes that will keep you healthy, both generally and regarding your liver.
On here and have conversations with people who are living with or caring for those with just about every type / cause and stage of liver disease.
For specific advise about your condition you will always have your own GP / consultant. Only they will have at hand your medical history and results for the various tests you will have had to diagnose and assess your illness.
Take good care of yourself,
Jim
How were you diagnosed I would guess you were need a fibroscan to tell Yel level. Good luck let us know how things work out
Yes i did fibroscan and i got 9.8kpa score which falls under fibrosis. I'll be seeing my doctor on jan 15. Im just really curious on the stages.
Staging of liver disease is done on the Metavir Scale which generally means.
Fibrosis score:
F0 = no fibrosis
F1 = portal fibrosis without septa
F2 = portal fibrosis with few septa
F3 = numerous septa without cirrhosis
F4 = cirrhosis
If you look at a Fibroscan score chart you'll see that fibroscan scores relate to different degrees of fibrosis these numbers provide different results depending on underlying causes of the liver disease. You can see these charts in visual form if you type Fibroscan Score Chart into your search bar and look at images and you should be able to see where your 9.8 kPa sits on the chart which is relevant to your underlying condition.

I fall under f3, does that mean that it is sever?
Upper end of fibrosis before it becomes full on cirrhosis but as others have said fibrosis is seen to be reversible (even early cirrhosis is no thought to be reversible) if the damaging factor is removed or treated and you follow all the healthy living advice.
Hopefully your doctor will tell you more at your next appointment. In the meantime as Jim advised have a look at the main British Liver Trust site for healthy living advice and more. britishlivertrust.org.uk/

I have yet to have my fibroscan but have been doing my homework on here Eya and I'm led to believe from what I've read on the posts is that f3 is completely reversible if you have a diet that's good for your liver, don't drink alcohol and take regular exercise! 😊However some have been through this and prob will give you better info. I'm happy for you. I still have to have mine and I am so worried. I can't get my picture up lately but I am Shuu. Good luck. xx
I hope I can put that info on here for Eya and it doesn't contrdict the Guidelines. Please feel fee to remove the post if it does. Anyway, I wish Eya all the best.
