Does anyone have a thought on how many times your afp tumors markers will go up up above normal high then back down right below normal high before someone might say dam they ain’t right ? All my blood test equals the high end score but I am ok ? I feel like I been run over by a truck and left on the roadside like a armadillo in the rain, any medications to get going ? I don’t drink just have Hepatitis C Cirrhosis

Unfortunately we were told that afp is not always reliable.

My hubby had normal afp but when they removed his liver he had over ten HCC tumours.had this registered he would not have got a transplant and been long dead.

So afp is a difficult one.

Well thank you, at one time I was told there are 4 HCC on liver 2 in the spleen an mass on the left kidney they could see. then it’s as if they left like disappearing at will but then the numbers go up and down. MRI of the abdomen each 6 month and full lab work 4 times a year and Tli us ELASTOGRAPHY once yearly . I still can’t breathe worth hot dang

I wish I had an answer - I've wondered about afp markers myself, but have not gotten a clear answer from my husband's doctor and have not pushed.
