Hey, I went to kings,& to be honest, they didn"t really help! The surgon I saw for my tumors was good He would operate if needed, but at the mo it is to dangerous as my liver is covered in them! & they Aren"t cancerous! & I also have NASH very bad so he didn"t think it was worth the risk! The diease & tumors Are stable at the Mo! I have regular bloods, mri & see a gasto DR local to me! The hepoloist I saw was useless! & very rude! Waste of time in genral! I might be ok for you let me know how you get on
I have found Kings brilliant, in terms of appointments be prepared for a wait, but on your appointment you won't rushed, which I found good. They have always sent me a detail of the consultation and a copy to my go. They pushed on with tests and when I got worst they got on very quickly with tests and transplant assessment.
I've been with Kings for 4 years they have been brilliant, ensured I understood everything that was happening and gave the options of asking questions.
Transplant assessment process was straight forward although a lot of information and tests in two days....
Have been on tx list for just over 10 months now. They have been great the whole time.
I think it might depend on how well you are when you're referred. I was already in hospital and transferred to kings within about a week for assessment.
